Kate Campbell - Bio 2011

Kate Campbell

In September 1996, at six years of age, Kate began training in Chito-Ryu karate with the New Maryland Karate Club, just outside Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ten months later she competed in her first provincial karate tournament, finishing 1st in kata.

Since then, competing in both kata (forms) and kumite (sparring), she has been New Brunswick champion thirteen times, Maritime/Atlantic champion fourteen times, a National champion four times and an International medalist eight times. Her achievements have been recognized by the New Brunswick Chito-ryu Association, Sports NB and Karate Canada.
